Nai's Marathon Effort!

London Marathon 2022 · 2 October 2022 ·
Most people visiting this page to sponsor me (thank you!) will know that in 2019 I lost my dad to cancer. What you may not know is that he spent the last month of his life in St Michael's Hospice, Hereford. Dad had been chaplain there for several years during his ministry. The day he was able to be admitted for end of life care there, he said he felt the arms of the place come around him, and he was able to relax into his death. It was not only dad who benefited from the extraordinary care at St Michael's. It was a safe space for all the family. A haven from everything going on, where we could be together, looked after, supported and listened to. There were no lengths to which the staff would not go to make such an impossibly difficult time as bearable as it could be. It was truly a place built of love and light. It may seem strange, but if I am asked to imagine my safe space, my mind immediately takes me back to St Michael's hospice.
I am running the London Marathon ( will I ever get used to saying that?!?) for Hospice UK so that people in need of hospice services throughout the country can be supported like we were, in my dad's memory.
