I bet you were all wondering what I was going to do next after the parachute jump and the London Marathon!

Well, I can safely say that married life has not made me any saner!

This summer I will be participating in two big events:

1) Cycling from Hildenborough, Kent to Paris covering 271 miles in 3 days from May 12th to May 15th with my club, the Kent Velo Girls (www.kentvelogirls.co.uk)

2) Competing in the UK 70.3 Ironman on June 19th - the most notoriously difficult of them all (!) with my equally crazy husband... involving a 1.2 mile swim, 56 mile bike and a 13.1 mile run (half marathon) just to cool down!

The events are both incredibly tough and are involving over 10 hours' training a week.

 

To ensure that I get up at 06:00am each morning, please consider donating to my chosen charity - Guide Dogs.

 

Guide Dogs are an amazing charity who provide mobility and freedom to blind and partially sighted people. They also campaign for the rights of people with visual impairment, educate the public about eye care and fund eye disease research.

 

For those of you who may not know, I was born blind in my left eye and whilst I am hugely grateful that this has not prevented me from leading a completely 'normal' life, I also keenly recognise the role that Guide Dogs plays in providing independence and enhanced quality of life for those of us who are not so fortunate and also hugely support their work in educating people about taking care of their eyes. (Oh, and I'm also dog mad!!)

 

I would really appreciate your support with these challenges. Your support (however small) will make a huge difference to this wonderful charity.
