I  was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer in Aug 2014. Triple Negative Breast Cancer affects approximately 10-20% of all breast cancers. Unlike other types of breast cancer, Triple negative breast cancers lack the receptors that enable some patients to respond well to targeted therapies such as Herceptin and hormone treatments. 

A number of new treatments are therefore needed to more effectively treat patients in the future.  It is more likely to affect younger women and studies have shown it is more aggressive than other breast cancer sub types and five year survival rates are lower than any other form of breast cancer

Breakthrough Breast Cancer are currently helping fund a trial that is specifically targeted for Triple Negative Breast Cancer. Their cutting-edge research is focused entirely on breast cancer. Their scientists are discovering: How to prevent breast cancer, How to detect breast cancer earlier, How to treat breast cancer more effectively.

I have now decided to embark on a challenge to do something positive to create awareness and raise as much money as possible for Breakthrough Breast cancer. By donating will help thousands of women for the future  and one day find a cure or at least a successful treatment.
