Muscular Dystrophy UK is the charity bringing individuals, families and professionals together to beat muscle-wasting conditions.

Story

Anyone who knows me knows I'm not one for running, going to the gym, or exercise in general. But I'm taking on this huge challenge - the Chester Half Marathon. I will cross that finish line... even if I'm crawling.

My reason for doing this is Jenson James a wonderful little boy who stole my heart the moment he came into this world. My best friend's little boy, jenson was born 9 months after my little boy. They are like brothers. I've watched him grow and flourish into a happy four year-old.

But Jenson isn't a typical four year old. Despite his huge smile and wonderful laugh jenson is living with Muscular Dystrophy. At the moment there is no cure. But this is where I (and anyone who sponsors me) comes in. My legs work, they may run slow, but I've got them and I will be putting them to good use.

I'm only a few weeks into my training and I'm using masking tape to cover my blisters. But this is nothing to the fight that jenson faces. Please please help me raise money to fund a cure. I can't talk too much about Jenson's future because my heart won't let me. All I know is that we need a cure. Please help me. Thank you.

Muscular Dystrophy UK is the charity for 70,000 people living with muscle-wasting conditions. They are making a difference today, providing vital information and support to help people live as independently as possible. They are making a difference for tomorrow, accelerating progress in research and driving the campaign for access to emerging treatments.
