Story

What am I up to?
In an effort to raise money for a fantastic charity, I’m abseiling down the Spinnaker Tower on 1st September. It sounded like a ‘fun’ idea when people in the office suggested it, turns out it is 100m tall and now it feels less like a ‘fun’ idea and more like a ‘silly’ idea, but I’m a lady who stands by my word, so I’m doing it!

Who am I raising money for?
A small but specialist charity called Service Dogs UK. They train and provide assistance dogs to support members of the Armed Forces and Emergency Services who have Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) in the Southern region of the UK. The dogs are trained to help ex-service personnel with nightmares, flashbacks, anxiety and medication reminders. You can find out more on their website https://www.servicedogsuk.org

Why sponsor me?
Mental health is something that is important to me. If by putting myself in this slightly silly position I can help the life of just one person experiencing PTSD, I’ll feel like I’ve made a difference and will have been worthwhile. Service personnel give so much (including their mental health) to help the lives of others and this is a small way to show thanks to them.

My target is £300, please help me get there!
