Our fantastic #TeamOrange runners are taking on the Great North Run to make every step count in the race to beat muscle-wasting conditions.

Story

Muscular Dystrophy UK is the charity for the 70,000 children and adults living with muscle-wasting conditions in the UK. There's currently no cure, and in many cases, it limits lives. MDUK do vital work in funding pioneering research into treatments and cures as well as providing vital information, advice, resources and support for individuals and families living with these conditions.

As part of my training to become a physiotherapist, I worked within a paediatric community team where I visited children within their own homes and experienced first hand the positive effects that MDUK has on improving the quality of life of both children who suffer from muscular dystrophy and their families. Thanks to funding  from MDUK many of these children had adapted wheelchairs and bedrooms with hoist equipment and specialist showering facilities to allow them to complete day to day activities that we often take for granted.

To raise money and help support the work of this wonderful charity I have decided to run the Great North Run- a Half Marathon!

My goal is to raise £350 in total- if your able to donate anything (pounds or pennies) then please follow the instructions on this page.

Thanks for your support!!
