What is it?

This is a two-part charity fundraiser first consisting of the Montane Lakeland 50, a 50 mile ultra-marathon across the Lake District encompassing over 10,000 feet of climbing. The second part is the world-famous London Marathon held annually and featuring a 26.2 mile route around the capital spectated by hundreds of thousands of people and broadcast live on television.

Why do it?

Eden Valley Hospice is a local charity supporting North Cumbria by providing care for adults with life limiting illnesses. Like many charities they gain all their financial support from the public and it’s your donations that keep them going to care and provide for people in need. Their mission statement ‘Eden Valley Hospice will provide palliative care for people with incurable or life limiting illnesses, enabling them and their carers to live life as fully and as independently as possible’ was what captured my attention and is why I’m running both these events to raise vital funds for the charity.

When?

The first event takes place on the 24^th July 2021.

Target?

Eden Valley Hospice have set myself a target of £1750 but I would like to exceed that and raise in excess of £2000.
