This page has been created in the loving memory of Nawras Abudaqqa. It was put by his family and friends who wish to honor his legacy and continue his journey.

Nawras Abudaqqa, beloved husband to Lina, an 3asal brother to Nadim, Nibal, Nizar and Raneem, and a perfect son to Salah and Nabila, left us on 25th June 2021. Nawras dedicated his life to helping those in need, and enriching the lives of the people around him, bringing joy and laughter to their souls.

Nawras was a huge supporter of Sea Shepherd’s mission and its fleet of shark-themed vessels that it uses to hunt down illegal fishing boats and disrupt the exploitation of the world’s oceans and defenseless marine wildlife.

After watching Seaspiracy, Nawras stopped eating seafood overnight, and he even invented a paddleboard-based game of tag where one person starts as the Sea Shepherd and chases everyone else, who start as the illegal fishing boats but turn into Sea Shepherds themselves once caught and knocked off their boards, and then in turn chase the remaining illegal fishing boats until all of them are caught. Sea Shepherd’s global campaigns have helped protect whales, dolphins, seals, sharks, penguins, turtles, fish and aquatic birds (Nawares) from poaching, unsustainable fishing, habitat destruction and exploitive captivity.

Nawras’s spirit is not in the past, but rather in the present and future, and it is our duty to make his legacy one that continues.

Thank you for your support.
