Can you help me raise funds for Action on Hearing Loss?
When I was wee little toddler, a local company in the village I lived in near Southampton got their staff together to raise £1,200 (this is 1985!), which bought specialist hearing equipment that gave me a massive boost in my development.
Me and my family also received so much support in those early years from deafness-related charities and organisations. This helped ensure that I never fell behind as a disabled person and enabled me to have a good education.
I want others to be able to get the same support as I did, and so I'm using my fairly recent obsession with running to fundraise for Action on Hearing Loss through a year of running - climaxing with the YORKSHIRE MARATHON on Sunday 8th October. The longest I've run so far is one single half-marathon...
Planned races confirmed so far (in among all the training of course!):
Leeds Half Marathon - 14th May 2017
York 10K - 6th August 2017
Great North Run - 10th September 2017
Yorkshire Marathon - 8th October 2017
Take a look at my photos to see cute pics of me both as a little 'un and 30 years later as a runner!
Please do consider sponsoring me.
