I am honored to be one of this year's Stars who is dancing and fundraising to support the mission of Carolina Breast Friends! You can help me by voting with your charitable dollars! And every dollar equals 1 vote for me in the dance competition! Breast cancer is a cause that is close to my heart. Over the coming months, I'll be putting my all into learning my routine for Dancing with the Stars of Charlotte to Benefit the Pink House, just like Carolina Breast Friends puts their all into easing the journey for women and men with breast cancer.

I said yes in the middle of a pandemic, but I could not say no to the honor of being selected along with 12 other incredible stars. The Pink House was a dream of the late wife of my friend Chris Ebel and has been a long standing icon in the local non profit community. Carolina Breast Friends helped make this dream come true. The organization provides support in giving breast cancer survivors encouragement and education. It gives families a place to connect and commiserate. 

I am dancing in honor of two friends/mentors. Mel Correll Miller, who lost her long courageous battle with breast cancer earlier this year, as well as Fabi Preslar, who won hers in the same year. I watched both of these amazing women fight for their lives. Breast cancer knows no barriers, as does any form of cancer, but it is the most common and widespread.

I am the second Indian American woman chosen to be a part of the cast in the history of this event, and am proud to represent my community in this endeavor.
