Hi fellow Lloyds members as you have found this page then, I guess you will know the story.  But just in case, I will explain the best I can.

Posters on the LSE LLoyds bulletin board, thanks to a long standing member with nick name of Meerkat have again this year held a 'End of year, guess the share price competition'.

Sadly, just before Christmas of this year 2016, Meerkat, who started this completion, died, after a fairly long illness.

As we are all cyber members, I think I am correct in saying no one knew the eventual cause of Meerkats death, and we received a brave, and very sad post from Meerkats wife, to tell us of her great loss.

This was a shock to all, as although we knew of his illness, Meerkat was not one to depress the board with the severity of his suffering.

It was particularly shocking to me, as I had, an online disagreement with him, and that was, as far as I know the last post he ever made on the Lloyds board.

The winner of the 'End of year comp' suggests the charity which all participating members each agree to donate upon entry to the comp, a minimum of Ten pounds.

Ironically this year, I, the most unpopular poster to Meerkat, won guessing Lloyds end of year share price of 67p.

I can only assume Meerkat was lost by cancer, and hence in his memory this fine charity has been chosen by me.  If I am mistaken I am sure he would forgive and give his blessing to this charity, which unfortunately & fortunately has become a part of so many of our lives in one way or another.

The competition will continue yearly, now kindly run by Asperger in Meerkats honour.  He will certainly not be forgotten being a honest, upfront, witty contributor to the board of long standing.

Thank you Asperger for doing so, and thank you all who kindly donate to this special charity of which so many people who at such an awful time can find some real comfort, help and kindness from the Macmillian staff.

It would be nice to raise as much as we can, for few of us will be fortunate enough to not know a loved one who will not be in need of such a wonderful charity
