Story
Unfortunately Kirsty lost her battle to cancer on 24/09/18 at The Christie Hospital. They provided wonderful treatment, gave excellent care and helped us out every step of the way. Kirsty requested that people donate to The Christie instead of buying flowers for the funeral.
As Kirsty's husband I really can't thank The Christie enough for everything they did to help my wife during her cancer battle. From something as big as the chemotherapy or radiotherapy, to the small things like bringing us a lovely brew or sandwich whilst waiting for scans, tests and over the final few days in the hospital and free parking passes for visitors. They really did give personal palliative care too, they made sure that Kirsty's final wishes went smoothly and without a hitch (including sneaking in the cat).
With the NHS struggling at every corner, it would be a shame for us to lose The Christie. They help over 44,000 patients a year. They're the largest single site cancer centre in Europe, you can just imagine the impact they have.
There isn't really a target goal for this fundraiser, except to raise as much money as possible. If anybody cares to do a donation offline, there will be a collection at the service and I am happy to take contributions in cash, which will then be added manually to the Just Giving page (get in touch on Facebook).
Please do feel free to share this fundraiser with your family and friends.
