Story

Hello All,

On Sunday 26th April I will line up on the start line with three numbers ringing in my head; '3.27' '3.27'. The reason for this, is in 1991, my father William Anthony Bowater Russell ran the London Marathon in 3hrs 27mins. Although the official time is hotly disputed by the rest of his family, the record stands.

My older brother, Ed has tried and failed and now the baton has fallen to the next Russell in the pecking order to try and knock the big man from his perch. Succeed or fail, it will be an honour to run the marathon for Place2be, a charity at the forefront of shifting our perception and the archaic taboos around child counselling.

Place2Be is a charity that provides in school counselling and support for pupils and families to improve wellbeing and mental health. As a result of your donation it would provide:

£7 could support a lunch-time support session for one child

£20 could support a parent with a one-to-one counselling session

£95 could give one child a year’s access to Place2Be in their school.

£500 could recruit and train a volunteer counsellor to work in one of our partner schools.

My Old man is so confident that his record won't be beaten that he has promised to match everything that I raise if I manage to! So please please donate however big and small, and I promise you I will try my utmost to break the family record. The Russell Family isn't competitive!

Thank you,

Nick
