Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
As some of you are aware, I have been spending a lot of time running of late to get in shape for a few challenges that I have set myself during the course of this year.
The purpose of these challenges is to support my friend Jo Bryant. I’ve known Jo for nearly 10 years having met her whilst playing hockey at university. 12 months ago she was diagnosed with a cardiac sarcoma – heart cancer – regarded as the rarest form of cancer. In February 2012 she was given 6-12 months to live. She is 29.
Jo is a fighter and also an extremely positive person and has set out to prove the doctors wrong. Before Christmas I promised that I would help her raise money for Sarcoma UK, the main charity in the UK dealing with all types of sarcomas. Since the news last month, as well as Sarcoma UK, I will also be raising money for Jo directly to support her in trying to find treatment to deal with her condition.
As part of my fundraising effort, I have challenged myself to complete the following events:
Brighton Half-Marathon, Sunday 19 Feb – Done – 1hr 29mins 50secs
Cambridge Boundary Run Marathon, Sunday 4 March - Done - 3hrs 35mins 17 secs
Hong Kong Peak- 10K - March - Done
Manchester Marathon - Done - 3hrs 26mins 23secs
London Duathlon (10k run, 44k bike, 5k run) - 9 September - Done - 2hrs 42mins 30secs
Tough Mudder - 18 November - Done
A massive thank you in advance for any donation you kindly make.
Nick
