Anyone who has ever met one of my best mates, Kris Powell, knows what a brilliant guy he is. He always goes well out of his way to help anybody. Earlier this year, Kris and his lovely partner Kim had to face what no parent should ever have to and it will be an honour to run the Manchester Half Marathon on October 10th 2021, in memory of their beautiful son, Reggie Albert Powell.

Here is their story:-  

On April 7th, my son Reggie Albert Powell was born but passed away peacefully shortly after birth. He was absolutely perfect and always will be. 

I am running the Manchester Half Marathon for Tommy's Charity, a charity that funds pioneering research and supports families across the UK through every part of the pregnancy journey. 

Kim and I have already sought advice regarding the loss of Reggie and will look for further support in the future. If we are lucky enough to bring a little brother or sister into the world for Reggie, we would hope to use the Rainbow Clinic in Manchester, which provides specialist care for women who have suffered a previous stillbirth or neonatal death.
