The King’s Trust supports 11 to 30 year-olds who are unemployed or struggling at school to get their lives on track. Many of the young people we support are in or leaving care, have been in trouble with the law, or they are facing challenges such as homelessness or mental health issues.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Hopefully, you will be astounded to learn that I have now been at PwC for 25 years! In fact, if you include both legacy firms (Coopers & Lybrand and Price Waterhouse), it's rather more.

In UK, it is PwC's custom to award such veterans with a gift of their choice to the value of £500 to recognise this service. I have struggled to think of any suitable personal or domestic adornment and have proposed to the Firm that they make an equivalent donation to a charity of my choice. The Firm have agreed and will indeed add a further matched funding of £250 to the gift.

The charity that I have chosen is The Prince's Trust with specific suggestion that the donations be put towards the Enterprise Programme in the West Midlands (a region of the UK that suffers particularly acute youth unemployment). The Prince's Trust is a charity set up by HRH the Prince of Wales some 40+ years ago to help disadvantaged young people, typically those not in work, education or training, to get their lives back on track by helping them to develop self-esteem, motivation and key skills necessary to succeed in life. The Enterprise Programme assists young people to set up their own business by providing working capital loans and support mentors. I regularly sit on the Programme's assessment panels and have been associated with this for many years; I can assure you that it is extremely effective and high value for the money donated.

Now, the final twist!! If you have enjoyed working with me, I wonder if you would also like to help me celebrate the last 25 years by adding your support this cause?
