Story
This February, I’m committing to walking 56 miles for Refuge - one mile for every woman and child who, every single day, needs support to escape domestic abuse.
This cause is deeply personal to me.
I am a survivor of abusive relationships. I was fortunate that I didn’t need Refuge’s services at the time - but I know just how close many women are to needing that door, that safety, that first night of support. I also know how much courage it takes to leave, and how frightening those first steps can be.
Today, I work as a self-esteem and confidence coach supporting women who are rebuilding their lives after abuse. I see, every day, the long-term impact of control, fear, and erosion of self-worth - and I also see what becomes possible when women are met with safety, support, and belief.
Refuge supports thousands of women and children every day. Many arrive with little more than the clothes they are wearing.
Just £15 can provide essential items for a woman arriving at a refuge - toiletries, food, and practical support to help her through that first night. Every £1 truly makes a difference.
By supporting my 56-mile walk, you’re helping women and children take their first steps towards safety, dignity, and hope.
£300 could help provide essentials and support for many women taking their first steps to safety.
Thank you so much for being here, for reading, and for supporting this cause in any way you can. 🤍
