The Aspire Channel Swim 2009 · 6 December 2009 ·

Every two hours someone in the UK is paralysed by a spinal cord injury. It can happen to anyone at any time and no one is prepared for how it will change their life. Aspire is a national charity that provides practical help, supporting spinal cord injured people from injury to independence.

Story

Hello!

Thanks for visiting my page and deciding to part with your hard earned cash.

From the 14th September I'll be swimming 22 miles over 6 weeks. To put it into context that's 1416 lengths of my local swimming pool which means that I'll be doing 236 a week. At the moment I'm on 60 a week, so it won't be easy even though I'm not doing it in one go.

Aspire make life easier for people with serious spinal injuries. They help all ages and provide them with technology to communicate, wheelchairs, adapted accommodation and independent living officers. To find out more visit their website: http://www.aspire.org.uk.

If you sponsor me not only are you a LOVELY human being but you're also helping someone's day to day life become a lot easier and who wouldn't want to do that?

If you haven't donated before here's how it works:

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

Thank you!

Nic
