I am running the half marathon this year as a personal challenge and to raise money for cancer research. I lost my wonderful mum to cancer 10 years ago and I still miss her deeply. The saddest thing is that she never got to meet her grandsons. My 8 and 7 year old boys and my sisters 8 and 1 year old boys would have adored her. There are so many questions I would have asked her about being a mum. It's a whole chapter of my life that I never got to share with her. She was a great runner so I know she'd be cheering me on in the half marathon and I'm hoping to raise money for cancer research so we all get to live long lives with our future grand children.
