London to Paris Cycle 2010 · 26 May 2010
Hello! Thanks for visiting! I am going to cycle from London to Paris from 26-30 May 2010... I'm hoping it won't rain!
It's 310 miles (500km). Day one is 95 miles (about 8-9 hours cycling!) and the other days are between 60 and 80 miles each. And since the furthest I've ever cycled is 60 miles it's a bit of a challenge! Eek! So I'm putting in the training miles, learning bottom stretches and discovering how to swerve potholes. All in a good cause!
And yes, I have padded shorts.
The charity I'm riding for is Breakthrough Breast Cancer. This is very close to my heart, and your donation will reap benefits not only for the 1 in 9 women diagnosed each year but their families, too. More women than ever are surviving breast cancer thanks to better awareness, better screening and better treatments so please donate to increase that survival rate!
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
So please dig deep and donate now! Thank you!
ps. in response to some common questions..
- no I don't cycle accross the Channel - I am good - but I can't pedal accross water!
- no I don't have to cycle back again - I will be enjoying Eurostar on the way home!
