Throughout my time as a Miss Scotland finalist this year we have the privilege of being able to raise funds for a charity of our choice in the hopes that we can raise awareness and support something we really believe in! My chosen charity and my chosen fundraising challenge are so important to me as they are the exact reason I am in the competition today. I have chosen to fundraise for Support in minds Scotland. Not a lot of you know, very few other than close friends and family, that last year I had to take a lot of time out from my busy life, including my job which I love, due to suffering from uncontrollable anxiety. Late in the year I had a few months in which I took time out to re-build my confidence and get back to myself, this included a lot of support from doctors and therapists and vitally the support from my family and amazing partner. Unfortunately anxiety lives within everyone, and sometimes due to circumstances out with your own control this anxiety can be triggered, much like myself because of this it can cause a lot of confusion and over a short period of time can consume you, it takes a lot of time and support to over come it and in the end it's not just you that suffers, it can be those who love and care about you the most that suffer too. I am raising funds for support in minds Scotland to raise awareness of anxiety and depression amongst young people. They provide such amazing support for those that suffer and their families/carers to insure they cope with everyday life and are able to find a life that they enjoy! So with that being said, I entered Miss Scotland as I knew it was something I would love and enjoy doing so much that it would help me regain a lot of the confidence I had lost, in conjunction with this a lot of my time out was spent at the gym every day to help clear my mind and keep healthy! So what better way to stick to what I love than do 3 weeks of fitness! Yes......I am vowing to do 21 days in a row of programmed gym workouts! This paired with my full time job and my Miss Scotland commitments is a very tough challenge to complete so please support me in doing so by sparing any pennies that you have which will all be donated to such a fantastic charity! Of course I will post every day to make sure that you all know I am full filling my commitment!!! Let the fun begin! Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
