Story
Charlie was a fun loving, amusing, entertaining young man just turned 18. He was passionate about football as well as most sports that over the short years, he would just have a go at, often doing well !!
His football kept him happy and gave him a sense of purpose to do his best for himself and the team around him. Off the pitch he was tenaciously loyal to his friends, ready to stand his ground for his friends and himself. He loved his friends, he never favoured the more popular louder ones but equally gave his time to those on the periphery, he had a sensitive side to care for others struggling.
He knew with first hand experience the importance of good mental health growing up; suffering all his younger years from low self-esteem but hiding it in the open, he used football as a platform to feel good about himself and stand equally amongst his peers. During these adolescent days his outgoing loud nature was often his cover to hide his silent suffering.
In the last 6 months of his life, he was on top, he was enjoying life to the full with his friends, on and off the football pitch. He was supremly confident with a huge heart and loyal to them. He was being mentored well at work as a chippies mate, applying to join the Army and partying with vigour.
He would love the fact that any monies in his name would go to help others suffering in their younger years but without the benefit of being surrounded by such good friends, supporting family and access to sport and opportunity. Please help Charlies caring nature continue through this very worthwhile charity.
Thank you so much,
Jo, Nige and of course, Chopkins-10.
