Isle of White Challenge · 30 April 2016

We are Kinship.  The leading kinship care charity in England and Wales. We’re here for Kinship carers – friends or family who step up to raise a child when their parents aren’t able to.  Let’s commit to change for kinship families.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

We have decided to take on the challenge of trekking across the Isle of Wight as part of the Isle of Wight challenge 2016. It is 25km of terrain taking place on Saturday 30th April 2016. We have dug out the trainers and have been in training since the start of January. 25km is a long way but we’re challenging ourselves to jog it.

Grandparents Plus is a great charity that supports grandparents and kinship carers when taking on the care of young children when their parents are no longer in a position to do so for whatever reason.

This is a charity that is close to both of us through our work. I am an employee of Grandparents Plus and provide information and advice on their much needed advice line. Amy is a child care solicitor who often represents family members and children in court proceedings and has links with the charity.

You can find out further information about Grandparents Plus here at http://www.grandparentsplus.org.uk/.
