Story
I'm running for Grief Encounter because they offer vital services to children and families experiencing a bereavement. To lose someone you are close to is the hardest thing in the world but to experience that as a child or young person can have a devastating impact. The services that Grief Encounter offers are so important in helping people get through this terrible time and the work they do is really important.
When I was 27 my best friend Patricia died unexpectedly and I was completely unprepared for the derailing I experienced as a result of my grief. I was fortunate enough to live within the catchment area for a local bereavement charity and so have benefited greatly from their counselling service. I believe that everyone should have access to such support and so want to help Grief Encounter provide services to those most in need.
I only started running in spring 2019 and never believed I could get to the point where completing a half marathon seemed like an achievable (or fun) thing to do! If you are able to spare a donation of any amount to help me reach my target then I would be truly grateful. You really will be making a huge difference to the lives of many.
