Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

After losing my Mum to cancer at the end of last year, I decided that I needed to give something back.

In February 2011, I will be taking part in a Sahara Trek which has been organised through the Grantham Journal as part of their Brick-in-the-Wall Appeal which is raising funds for The Grantham Hospice.

We were fortunate enough to spend our final five days together as a family in our local hospice.  Not only was the care beyond anything we could have expected, we were able to take away some very fond memories which have somehow softened the pain of our loss.

Unfortunately I now know that we were privaledged.  Inpatient care was provided 24/7 and we could stay with her throughout.  Grantham Hospice do not have the funds for this type of care, but they do provide day care and hospice at home facilities.  The care they give is no less important and it is just as prescious.  I know that whatever I raise will be a drop in the ocean but at least I will know that I have given something back.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate -

Thank you and please help me to feel that the pain is worth it!
