The Sick Children’s Trust is the charity that gives families with a seriously ill child in hospital a comfortable place to stay and a friendly ear to listen in one of our ten ‘Homes from Home’. By providing families with somewhere to stay near their child they have one less thing to worry about.

Story

As you all know, I run many marathons each year and do not usually raise money for charities, however I've decided to raise money for The Sick Children's Trust by running the London marathon in 2016 as it is an amazing charity which is very close to my families hearts after my granddaughter became very poorly this year.

The Sick Children's Trust believes keeping families together significantly improves the recovery of seriously ill children. They provide free, high-quality ‘Home from Home’ accommodation, as well as emotional and practical support, to families with sick children in hospital in the UK.

This charity means a great deal to me and my family as they provided my daughter Emily & her husband Luke with somewhere to stay whilst my granddaughter Esmé was very poorly in The Royal London hospital in November 2015. Without the charity, they wouldn't have been able to be by their daughters side whilst she was in intensive care. It made things that little bit easier at an awful time in their life's.

Anything you can give would be much appreciated by the Sick Children's Trust who rely entirely on donations.
