My mum was diagnosed with bowel cancer at the start of 2022, which she knew wasn't curable but continued to have so much hope that she could just have more time, more time with her family and more time with her friends. We could never have had enough time with her, and sadly in August my Mum died, peacefully at home, with my Dad beside her. 

In June, Mum had a short but impactful stay at Winchester Hospice where her hope didn't waver and it gave us more time than at that point we thought was possible. When she arrived into their care, she almost instantly became brighter. She was so impressed with the care she received and the amazing work of all the staff who all make such a difficult time, just that little bit easier. In classic Mum style, she said that when she was better, she would be campaigning for all the staff there to have a pay rise. Short of being able to give her that wish at the moment, we would like to ask for donations in her memory to go to Winchester Hospice. 

Simply put, my Mum was wonderful. She thrived on community and as we come to terms with her passing, we hope that you will remember her and remember each other. She is so loved and will always be remembered xx xx xx
