Story
This Bank Holiday Monday we will be gathering together for a non-competitive paddle around the Trent loop, which takes in a historical section of the Nottingham canal and a stunning section of the River Trent. It will start and finish at Nottingham Kayak Club, which can be found on Trentside North, between Trent Bridge and Lady Bay Bridge and just along the road from the Forest FC Grounds (NG2 5FA). We welcome all types of paddlers with all types of crafts - from SUPs to Canadian canoes - to join us in solidarity of the DEC's humanitarian appeal for those suffering the impact of war in Ukraine. Further details, including start times, will be posted on the Nottingham Kayak Club website: https://sites.google.com/view/nottinghamkayakclub/home?authuser=0

Intense conflict in Ukraine is threatening the lives and livelihoods of civilians across the country, causing hundreds of thousands to flee. Homes have been destroyed or are unsafe to live in. Essential services have been hit. Families have been separated. People have been injured. Lives have been lost. DEC charities and their local partners are in Ukraine and across the border in the neighbouring countries. They are working to meet the immediate needs of all people fleeing with food, water, medical assistance, protection and trauma care.£30 could provide essential hygiene supplies for three people for one month£50 could provide blankets for 4 families to keep them warm £100 could provide emergency food for two families for one month
