Story

Hi Folks

In February of this year, my dear friend Joanne Connaghan lost her son Noah, to cancer. He was just shy of his 4th birthday and a wonderfully vibrant, sunny little boy. He had Neuroblastoma - an aggressive childhood cancer, that he and his loving family tirelessly battled, since the tender age of 7 months.

As a fitting tribute to Noah and indeed all people touched by cancer - myself and Donaghadee friends Kelly McBurney, Linda Lennox and Susan McClure wanted to mark this with some charitable event. We, collectively felt it a wonderful opportunity and platform to raise as much money and awareness as we possibly can, for a charity very close to the Connaghan's heart, and indeed one which gave them invaluable support throughout Noah's journey. It is NORTHERN IRELAND CANCER FUND FOR CHILDREN (NICFC).

NICFC offers practical, emotional and financial support to children, teenagers and young adults with cancer, and their famillies. That support is given in hospital, community and in the family home, through all stages of illness, treatment and sadly at times, bereavement too.

Here are two short video's showing a small part of what NICFC is about...

Soooo, we four gals plan to put our fit bird prowess into action and take part in the RUNHER COASTAL 10K CHALLENGE, on 23rd May 2014. Will be an *Olympic* mix of power walking, gentle jogging and even some *Chariots of Fire* supersonic sprinting, if we're feeling hardcore enough.....LOL.

The ultimate end goal is to raise a mahoosive amount of money and awareness for the NICFC.
