Story

Alder Hey Children's Hospital in Liverpool have been supporting our immediate and wider family for 18 years.

In 2017 our son Charlie was blue lighted to Alder Hey following a cardiac arrest and admitted to ICU.  He was diagnosed with Dilated Cardiomyopathy and end stage heart failure.  We were told to prepare for the worst.  Five days later Charlie was stable enough to be transferred to the Freeman Hospital in Newcastle, where months later he received a heart transplant.

Charlie and his sisters attend regular check ups at Alder Hey's Heart Centre and this will continue until they are adults.
