London to Paris Cycle 2019 · 24 July 2019 to 28 July 2019 ·

Passing through the picturesque Kent countryside, you cross the Channel and continue through small villages and medieval market towns of Northern France along to our finish line at the iconic Eiffel Tower!

Story

Alzheimer’s Society is transforming the landscape of dementia forever. Until the day we find a cure, we will create a society where those affected by dementia are supported and accepted, able to live in their community without fear or prejudice.

This disease offers only one way out and raising money towards vital research means that in the future there will be hope for patients diagnosed with Alzheimer's.

I am raising money for Alzheimer's Society in memory of my Uncle John. He was diagnosed at 56 and sadly died 5 years later from the disease, aged just 61.

I hope that by raising money there can be help provided for families affected by the disease. The event is a 4 day ride from London to Paris.

Any donations are greatly received and will go towards support and hopefully finding a cure for Alzheimers.

Here are a couple of areas the money will go towards:

£525 - Could improve the well-being of 25 people with dementia, by paying for them to spend an hour with an experienced Dementia Support Worker. During this time, they will have the chance to develop their own coping strategies and increase confidence in managing their symptoms.

£245 - Could pay for 30 people affected by dementia to attend one of our Singing for the Brain sessions. Each session is led by an expert and aims to enhance communication and confidence in people living with dementia.

Many Thanks,

Ollie
