Story

This Always Remember Tribute Fund is a lasting tribute to someone who lost their life to sepsis. In our case, this is our beautiful boy Oliver. After catching a cold in December 2019, his immune system being low meant he picked up an unknown infection which caused Sepsis. The sepsis took hold incredibly quickly and although he fought for 3 days, his body couldn't take anymore and he lost his fight on 3rd January 2020.

The pain we have been through after losing Oliver has been unimaginable. We didn't know anything about Sepsis until it took our child and it's our goal to continue his legacy by ensuring as many people as possible know the signs and symptoms and know to ask 'Could it be sepsis?' so they don't have to go through losing a loved one in this way.

As September is Sepsis Awareness Month, World Sepsis Day, and also Oliver's Birthday, we thought it apt to create an everlasting donation page.  We are starting with the #ScootForSepsis campaign as Oliver absolutely loved his scooter and its a great way for people to get involved, not only to spread awareness of Sepsis but also to remember Oliver.

Donations are welcome and all go to the UK Sepsis Trust who works tirelessly to spread awareness throughout the UK.

If you are unable to donate, please go to the Sepsis Trust Website (https://sepsistrust.org/about/about-sepsis/) and learn the symptoms.

Thanks

Sepsis accounts for 48,000 deaths annually in the UK, that’s more than breast, bowel and prostate cancer put together. Sepsis is what happens when our immune system overreacts to an infection. Symptoms initially present as flu like but can rapidly deteriorate into a life threatening condition.
