I celebrate my Barmitzvah in a few weeks and I am raising money for a charity called Jewish Child’s Day. Through grant funding, Jewish Child’s Day supports organisations providing medical, educational, therapeutic and humanitarian aid, respite care, protection, and poverty relief to children in need, worldwide.

It runs a Barmitzvah twinning programme which means that I am twinning my Barmitzvah with a boy named Elad who lives in Israel. I am raising money to support Elad, and am going to do a sponsored walk in the hope of raising money for his Barmitzvah and for his ongoing care.

I would really appreciate if you could donate a small amount of money for Elad’s cause. Elad and I have been exchanging letters, and I have learned a little about his life. Elad has special needs and goes to Morasha School of Special Education - he enjoys it there. He is looking forward to celebrating his own Barmitzvah because it signifies maturity and because it’s a Mitzvah and he feels proud to be Jewish, also because of the privilege of being called up to the Torah.
