The British Red Cross, a charity incorporated by Royal Charter 1908, helps people in crisis, whoever and wherever they are. And when the crisis is over, we help them to recover and move on with their lives.

Story

Following my moderate success in completing the Cambridge Half, I am now calling myself a runner, have acquired the necessary clobber, and have set the bar higher - about 200 miles further north - in Newcastle.

And, for a limited time only, your donation will buy a further 26 miles! I'll be running the Valencia Marathon in December, so that's two events for the price of one!

I'm fundraising for the British Red Cross, which provides valuable support to people in crisis, both here in the UK and internationally. In my work studying disasters, I have come to realise the critical role the Red Cross serves in providing aid to those most in need. As societal risks grow around the world, the importance of such organisations will only increase.

Thank you for your kind donations to a worthy cause, which will motivate me over every mile in the coming months.
