We provide a lifetime of care and support to the UK Armed Forces and their families

To pay tribute to those who have served and sacrificed, Ollie Ollerton, star of Channel 4's SAS: Who Dares Wins, will be climbing Nepal's Ama Dablam during Remembrance this year. Accompanied by a team of Armed Forces veterans - some of whose faces you may well recognise - he'll aim to summit the 6,812m peak on Remembrance Day, 11th November. The team will place a wreath at the top in honour of all those who have given their lives in conflict and to support the incredible work of the Royal British Legion.

The RBL's work provides financial, social and emotional support to members and veterans of the British Armed Forces and their families. Its iconic Poppy Appeal is the powerful annual tribute to all those who have served and sacrificed, crowned by a two-minute silence on Remembrance Day ‘at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month’, when the hostilities of the First World War formally ended.

This will be a tough challenge for Ollie, having only climbed Mont Blanc in the past (at 4,807m), and especially as Sir Edmund Hillary himself once described Ama Dablam as 'unclimbable'. Fortunately he'll have arguably the world's greatest mountaineer alongside him - Nims Purja, star of Netflix's '14 Peaks: Nothing Is Impossible' will be keeping the group safe on the mountain. Aldo Kane is another name amongst the group that needs no introduction; a former Royal Marines sniper-turned record breaker and TV personality, and one of the world's best expedition safety experts.
