Story
So I've become half crazy and signed up for the Colchester Half Marathon 21.1KM, due to start in less than 6 months. Crazy, because not only am I currently overweight and very unfit, I can't even jog 5K yet.
I started the Couch to 5K program a couple of weeks ago, and though I'm slow, very slow... I'm improving slightly with each session. I've done the math, and as long as I keep training for the next 6 months I should be able to complete the half marathon.
No idea what sort of time I'll be completing it in, but I will complete it even if I'm walk/crawling over the finish line.
So if you'd like to follow the hilarity of me training for this, there will be many updates of how my training for hell and back is progressing, hopefully what doesn't kill me will make me awesome instead.
I know I'm going to want to give up when it starts to get really tough during the winter, fundraising for Cancer Research will certainly stop that. Cancer Research UK is the world's leading charity dedicated to beating cancer through research. They are fighting cancer on all fronts, finding new ways to prevent, diagnose and treat it to save more lives. They are entirely funded by the public. With your help, we can ensure more people beat cancer.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Any support is very much appreciated, even its only verbal. I'm going to need every little bit of motivation I can gather.
