Orwell River Loop (Shotley Gate- Languard Point Felixstowe) · 12 February 2022

Each week at least twelve young people in the UK die suddenly as a result of undiagnosed heart conditions. At Cardiac Risk In the Young we aim to save young lives & to help those affected by the sudden cardiac death. We do this by providing support, information & screening those affected.

Story

On the 12th February myself and 4 others will be walking approximately 23 miles from Shotley Gate to Languard point (Without getting the ferry across!). This aim is to raise £500 for CRY charity who work to prevent sudden cardiac death to undiagnosed young people by providing screening facilities. I consider myself very lucky to have been told to stop competitive sport with a diagnosis, but sadly there are many young people who are unaware that their condition exists. Screening will go a long way to keep them safe! Any donation would be much appreciated :) x

Every week in the UK at least 12 apparently fit and healthy young people die of undiagnosed cardiac conditions. With your donation, CRY can reduce the frequency of young sudden cardiac death (YSCD) by working with cardiologists and family doctors to establish good practice and appropriate screening facilities to promote and protect the cardiac health of our young. By supporting CRY you will help save young lives from these potentially fatal cardiac conditions. See how your support can help by visiting www.c-r-y.org.uk
