Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Our beautiful brother Raj was diagnosed with Adrenoleukodystrophy (ALD) nearly 18 years ago; a condition that would change our brother's and our lives forever. A very rare genetic disorder that affects 1 in 20,000 males, (but our Raj was one in a million) an illness that effects many children and is much more aggressive and fatal than its adult form. As Raj dealt with this neurological condition throughout his adult life, he showed us what true fighting spirit he had and taught us that anything was possible to achieve with heart and determination.
Its fair to say Raj not only touched many of our hearts with his courage, determination and zest to survive, but taught us the valuable lesson of making the most of what we have, for the time we are here.
We can all agree Raj had a heart as big as the Sun and his smile shone brighter and in honour of the amazing Son/Brother/Uncle/Friend that Raj was we would like for all his wonderful friends and family to please refrain from sending Raj flowers and rather donate to the charity that works so hard to research his condition, to one day find a cure for the tragic and devastating illness that breaks so many hearts.
