ONE KAYAK: ONE COASTLINE: TWO WEEKS

I will be attempting to paddle in a sea kayak from Saltash to along the South Cornish coast, then around the Isles of Scilly in June 2010. I will be accompanied all the way by my good friend Dan in a support vessel. I had never seriously paddled before January 2010, and Dan took several pints of convincing, but it's going to be one hell of an adventure!! Dan and I are also running the Bristol 10k in May 2010 along with my best friend Kerri. None of us have ever seriously run before, except for the bus, so it should be an interesting day! The 2 groups to benefit from PaddleFree 2010 activities are British Divers Marine Life Rescue (BDMLR), a charity who care for the sea life that finds itself stranded on our coastline, and the Isles of Scilly Veterinary Support Group, a community group dedicated to helping provide the island’s animals with the same standard of veterinary equipment and care taken for granted on the mainland. BDMLR have kindly agreed to handle the donations for the project, with the final tally being split equally between the 2 groups.

We may not break any records or cause a global revolution but, we are here, pulling together and making an effort to create a positive difference. That is essentially what PaddleFree is all about!
