We research early diagnosis and treatments to beat pancreatic cancer.

Story

In April I am running my first half marathon and I thought would be a good opportunity to raise some money for a good cause - Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund (PCRF).

Last Easter my Grandad passed away shortly after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, so I am dedicating this cause to him and to others who have suffered due to this horrible illness. Only three percent of people diagnosed with pancreatic cancer survive for five years or longer (the lowest rate of all cancers), and this figure remains the same as it was forty years ago. Research has improved this statistic for many other cancers but pancreatic cancer gets relatively little funding. PCRF’s mission is to defeat pancreatic cancer  by raising funds for research into early detection, new treatments and ultimately a cure.

Thank you for your time and consideration. I appreciate your support in joining me on this cause at any level.

Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund is the only national charity dedicated solely to beating pancreatic cancer through research. Survival rates are low, so new research is vital. In the past, this cancer received little attention. With your help, we can change this so more people beat pancreatic cancer.
