The Great River Race · 8 September 2018

Our humanitarian work, clearing landmines and other debris of war, creates safe & secure environments in some of the world’s most vulnerable communities. We save lives and lift local families out of poverty by creating jobs for deminers and we prepare the way for development and long term stability.

Story

On September 8th we will be  rowing in The Great River Race  ( www.greatriverrace.co.uk) for the 17th time,   in our bright blue Salter’s skiff ‘Messing About’, and this year have been inspired to row for The Halo Trust, a fantastic charity that restores former war zones and battlefields to peace and prosperity by clearing land mines and unexploded ordnance, making it safe for displaced people to go back to their land so they can farm in safety. Land mines are also a danger to wildlife, eg elephants, in places like Sri Lanka . Kat & Nick, two of the crew, have visited Jordan, and seen the work Halo are doing in the Middle East.
