We’re leading the fight for a future where all young minds are supported and empowered, whatever the challenges. We’re here to make sure children and young people get the best possible mental health support and have the resilience to overcome life’s difficulties. Join our fight.

Story

Thanks everyone for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

The mental health foundation reports that 10% of children aged 6-16years have a clinically diagnosable mental health condition. 50% of all mental health problems are  established by age 14 and 75% by age 24.

Sadly 70% of children and adolescents who experience mental health problems have not had appropriate interventions at a sufficiently early age.

The recent global pandemic has put a huge strain on many young people who were already struggling with their mental health. Recent traumatic experience's, social isolation, a loss of routine and a breakdown in formal and informal support have all impacted.

Children and young people across the UK have has their lives turned upside down by the pandemic and almost every young person has had to adjust to dramatic changes at home or in their education. Some have experienced bereavement or other traumatic experiences during the lockdown periods, while groups who were already marginalised or disadvantaged are now likely to become more so.

Young Mind is an incredible charity who are calling for the government to commit to a recovery plan for children and young peoples mental health, with lots of proposed strategies in place to make it happen!

Please donate all you can to this much needed charity and support me as I challenge myself to clime three national mountains in 24 hours!
