Co-founder of the pioneering charity Penny Brohn Cancer Care, Pat Pilkington led a remarkable life. This fund has been set up to honour her memory, following her sad passing on 19 August 2013, and to ensure that her innovative work is continued.

Pat’s open-hearted generosity of love and care touched the lives of so many people throughout her life; from her early days as a drama teacher through to her work with friend and colleague Penny Brohn in setting up the charity that was originally named The Bristol Cancer Help Centre. Now world-renowned as Penny Brohn Cancer Care, the charity has supported many thousands of people diagnosed with cancer, and even into her eighties Pat continued to provide personal support to many of those who sought help from the charity.

Her constant and enduring service for those affected by cancer, and their families, was recognised in 2003 when she was awarded an MBE, and she continued to lead the charity as a Trustee though to the end of her life. Pat was a much loved and inspirational leader for everyone at the charity, which hopes to build upon her legacy whilst always remembering her spirit.
