Story
On the 18th of February, a team of self-funded women will embark on a pioneering expedition to trek across the world's largest cave Son Doong, in Vietnam. The objective of this expedition is to raise awareness and funds for underprivileged women affected by climate change.
Due to their gender-defined and traditional patterns of marginalisation, Vietnamese women are amongst those that are more likely to carry the heaviest burden and to suffer the most of environmental degradation.
The team will be fundraising for the UN Vietnam Women's projects that are focused on the advancement and economic empowerment in rural areas of Vietnam, ultimately helping build their livelihood and climate change resilience.
Our trek will take 4 days, at the end of it we will face a 90 metres wall climb to exit the cave. I must say I feel very excited and frightened about this but I don't really want to think about much and I am preparing myself as much as I can for this mission.
I hope I can count on you and your support.
Thanks for reading my story.
