Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Hi

I am intending to walk from Thorpe Hall Hospice in Peterborough to a small town in Scotland called Stewarton the place of my late wifes birth. This walk is about 360 miles and is something I often spoke about doing with Emma but never seemed to  find the right time to do it until now.

From the moment my wife was taken in to Thorpe Hall the care she received was amazing  she was treated  with care, compassion and dignity throughout her time in the hospice. My family also benefited from the compassion and understanding shown by all. The work the hospice staff do is truly awe inspiring and this inspired me into wanting to give something back . My wife passed away on the 6th May 2019 and I intend to start my walk on the same day this year. I will be 65 years old in August so i daren't leave it any longer

My intention is to walk an average of 33 miles per day  staying in campsites or Bed & Breakfast overnight. I will be walking on my own carrying everything I will need for a week so my rucksack will weigh around 18 kilo's. My daughters will re-supply me on the at the end of the first week.

Anyone who would like to walk a leg or part of a leg please feel free to join me. I will put out start points and finish points prior to starting and will update daily when I start.
