Story
So..... this year I am running the London Marathon to try and raise as much money as possible in aid of the Prader-Willi Syndrome Association UK. Most of you will know that my Fab nephew Sam was diagnosed with Prader-Willi Syndrome at birth almost 14 years ago now.
My sole motivation behind this is to provide some sort of help and support not only to Sam, but also to my amazingly resilient sister (Sarah), brother-in-law (Keith), and my niece (Lou). To say I don't know how they do it is not only an understatement, but also a testament to them in how they have dealt with this most complex syndrome and the constant, difficult challenges it brings, and the impact it can have on their day-to-day family life. To say I am in awe of them all, well.......
Sam is an amazing nephew not only to me but to his other aunt and uncle, John and Lisa, and an amazing cousin to my kids, Erin and Reece, and his other cousins, Amy and Evie. It goes without saying that he is an amazing grandson too and as expected gets spoiled by Nan Chris, Grandad Steve and Grandad Richard.
Now, as Sam shortly moves onto a new chapter, it's time to get my running shoes on and hopefully get the donations rolling in for this great cause. I will be running with my daughter Erin, who completed the marathon last year and raised over ยฃ2500 for the PWSA. This year Erin will be running the marathon in aid of Whizz Kidz.
Obviously, there are so many other families living and dealing with the many challenges of PWS. Hopefully this page may reach some that are unaware or have never heard of PWS and if that raises awareness, then I'm happy with that.
Now I know that times are tough, and we have only just said goodbye to Christmas, but if you can help make a difference to my family and all the other families across the UK living and dealing with the effects of PWS, it would really be appreciated. Your donations will help fund essential research and resources, provide access to those resources, transform lives for the better and if you could spread the word, that would be great too.
Thank you for your kindness and support, it really would be appreciated! ๐โโ๏ธ๐
