Story

On 12th March Fiona Mary Dall'Occo sadly lost her 2nd battle with cancer.

14 great years had passed since Fiona my wife, partner, friend and mother of our two wonderful boys was first diagnosed with breast cancer. During this time we saw Louis & Jake develop into two well honed adults making their way in life in their own indomitable ways.

They both flew the nest some 4 years ago during which time Fiona and I spent quality time together as we adjusted to life without children in the Idyllic Kentish village of Goudhurst. Fiona and I were looking forward to spending much more time together as our love for each other continued to flourish, very sadly in January of this year Fiona was diagnosed with a much more serious form of cancer which had nothing to do with breast cancer and after a relatively short period of time she lost her fight and passed away peacefully on Saturday 12th March 2022.

She will be so sadly missed by everyone who's paths she crossed (Especially me & the boys!), I have never met anyone who was so selfless to other people's needs and challenges, those qualities will forever remain in my mind and are passed on through Jake and Louis who share much of her endearing character.

Fiona's funeral will be held at Tunbridge Wells Crematorium on April 4th at 10.45.

In recognition of Macmillan's great work in her first battle with cancer which helped give us an extra 14 years of quality time together I am requesting that only direct family provide flowers to celebrate her life on the day of her funeral. Anyone else wishing to show their love & affection to Fiona for the beautiful person she was do so by donating to Macmillan Cancer Support on this Just Giving page, It's such a great cause dear to our hearts, let's continue the fight against this 'God Damn' awful disease.

After her first diagnosis I ran the 2009 New York Marathon for Macmillan cancer support, which was the first of many fantastic memories we thought at that time we would not have. We managed on that occasion to raise £5329 for Macmillan, if we can get half way to that figure on behalf of Fiona on this second fund raise that would be great, even greater would be to beat the 2009 New York Marathon number of £5329 which would be a fantastic result to help this well worthy cause.

There is no pressure to put a big donation in just donate what you can in memory of Fiona and her battles with cancer!

She'll be forever in our memories - what a bright star!
