"On Yer Bike" 100Km Challenge · 27 September 2020
The St Barnabas Hospice 'On Yer Bike' cycling challenge has been taken on by The Harmony Lincs Barbershop Chorus and they have put together a willing four part harmony “On Yer Bike Quartet” to cycle a collective 100km in a day. This will be along the Lincoln to Boston Water Rail Way on Sunday 27 September to raise much needed funds for the Hospice.
With our able support team of two from the chorus this means we are Covid 19 “Rule of 6 compliant” and raring to get on our bikes and go, go, go……
The Chorus has not met to sing together for the last six months so our voices have started to get a little “rusty” but we are hoping to take our pitch pipe with us and sing a few barbershop harmony songs and tags along the way….. if we can catch our breaths that is! It promises to be an exhausting day singing, having fun and friendship which is what Barbershop is all about. The Chorus is made up of singers from all over Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire so we feel this is another great way to share our singing and enthusiasm for Barbershop style singing across Lincolnshire.
We have set an initial fundraising target of £1,000 so please dig deep into your pockets to support us today and help enable their specialised care to continue throughout this difficult period of time and long into the future.
The Harmony Lincs Chorus has supported St. Barnabas Hospice in the past performing to patients/carers in their Lincoln Day Centre so this is also our way of supporting them again until we can get back together again as a chorus “on the risers” and sing for them once more when the Covid 19 pandemic is over.
