MY CYCLE RIDE FROM LONDON TO PARIS FOR THE ROYAL BRITISH LEGION

I am delighted to announce that despite the madness of doing this ride 2-years ago, I have decided to do this long ride once again. I have secured a place on The Royal British Legion's 'Pedal to Paris' ride in September 2014, for which my painful training programme has  already started.

I will be one of hundreds of cyclists taking on this challenging bike ride covering 460km. It will start in London on Thursday 4th September and ends at the Arc de Triomphe on Sunday 7th September 2014.

I am excited about taking this challenge again but more concerned about it this time as I know where all the steep hills are and still remember the aches and sore bits suffered from the previous ride.

I will be cycling an average of 115km a day although we need to cover about 150km (93 miles) on the first day, including 'that hill' just before you get into Dover!! All of the money raised by this ride will go to The Royal British Legion, which will be used to support British troops all over the world.

This years 'pedal to Paris will commemorate the 100th anniversary of the First World War, where we still remember the veterans to this day through the continued support of their families.

In the months leading up to the event, each cyclist has been asked to raise a minimum of £800 in sponsorship, although I have set myself a personal target of £1,000. I would greatly appreciate any contribution that you can make, no matter how small.

So please dig deep to ease my aching muscles a little and donate now...
