Story
On 31st October I will be sleeping out overnight at Lord’s cricket ground with 150 people who want to help fight poverty and homelessness.
I am taking part to help raise vitally needed funds for the Cardinal Hume Centre’s work tackling poverty and homelessness. Last year over 1,400 people came to the Centre looking for help, advice and support as times became tougher for them and their families.
At the Centre people such as Leila, 24, who fled the conflict in Syria, are given a home and the support to turn their lives around. Read Lelia’s story
While sleeping out for this one night does not compare to
the reality for those people who face it day in and day out, the act of
solidarity will help highlight the issue of poverty and raise funds for the
Centre’s work.
Please sponsor me and help send the message that
homelessness and poverty should simply not exist in the modern world.
